The End User Services Architect

Summary: The End User Services Solution Architect is responsible for the design & delivery of End User Services for the group globally. They will also be a big contributor to the strategy of End User Services by working with teams in End Users services to make sure all new tools, apps and functionality fits with overall strategy.  This includes all Directory and Authentication Services, Messaging, Collaboration systems and devices with a focus on innovative, next generation cloud technologies.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Designing and helping to advance the company's Directory Services & Authentication systems; creating an implementation roadmap & delivery
  • Designing the company's Collaboration systems (such as video conferencing & voice systems, email, chat, presence etc); creating an implementation roadmap & delivery
  • Designing and implementing a device strategy & policy across both mobile & desktop/laptop devices
  • Expert input to Saas / IaaS / PaaS options and performance engineering decisions to support next generation services
  • Design and develop architectural procedures for all EUS teams, designing for high availability & fully resilient service.
  • Contributing to the technical roadmap for all EUS services to deliver a highly scalable platform to facilitate the group's growth projections across all channels
  • Design, contribute and maintain 12-24 month EUS strategy and lifecycle view
  • Work with the network services & infrastructure peer groups to ensure there is an end to end view on requirements that provide performant and resilient services for all end user services
  • Work with internal teams and external vendors to evaluate new technologies for potential integration into the group’s service catalogue that reduce time to market
  • Review and understand what services are best suited to cloud or on premise hosted solutions across GVC Group
  • Perform as a design authority and architectural mentor/guide to other EUS team members
  • Providing technical assistance if needed in any major incidents

Key Accountabilities

  • Responsible for ensuring technical standards are created and maintained across End User Services team
  • Responsible for ensuring End User Services existing and new services adhere to security policies and data guidelines.
  • Maintaining a technology roadmap for End Users Services which will have input from End Users services team and peer group like Infrastructure and Networks

  • Expert in the architecture & design of :
    • Next Generation Directory Services
    • Cloud Based Single Sign on Services & secure authentication
    • Identity and Access Management (IDAM) solutions
    • Cloud-First services
    • Next generation communications systems - including, but not limited to voice and video
    • Services to enable true anywhere working, to include bring your own device (BYOD) and consumerisation of technology
    • Mobile Device Management (MDM)
    • Standards based specifications
    • Roadmaps and strategies for EUS services
  • Proven expert in service transition from traditional on-premises technology to cloud based services
  • Design of large-scale end-end global service supporting high transaction volume mission critical systems – 5x9’s operation is second nature
  • Expert in the design of services that embody the highest levels of security while maintaining best of class usability.
  • User Experience at the centre of everything is second nature.
  • Extensive experience utilising project tools and methodologies to best advantage
  • Experience with MS Technology stack, Azure, Office365, etc.
  • Knowledge of Google tools an advantage but not essential
