About The Role
To be a trusted communication advisor, partnering with the Corporate area of the business, ensuring they are supported with brilliant, first-class communications direction and execution, impacting our employee experience.  

Helping leaders to give clarity and bring energy to their teams, the role holder will report into the Head of Internal Communications for Corporate, and work closely with the HR leadership team and business Executives to provide subject matter expertise on all aspects of internal communications; strategic planning and counsel, compelling narrative, change communication and engagement. 

Key responsibilities
You’ll be a key member of the Group Internal Communications team, bringing your knowledge and influence to raise the bar for how leaders communicate with their teams and help to provide a world-class experience for our people, measured by Net Promoter Score (NPS) and employee engagement survey.

  • Demonstrate a good knowledge and understanding of both GVC and HR's strategy and how they’re connected, to help drive understanding across the business through the communications you deliver.
  • Make sure the GVC campaigns mean that we’re always connecting with our people in the very best way so that they can advocate for HR.
  • Actively build great relationships with key stakeholders across HR and the wider business to develop a strong understanding of our priorities, challenges and audiences.
  • Be a trusted advisor to the Head of Internal Communications and HR leadership team, earning yourself and the wider team credibility across HR.
  • Demonstrate ability to challenge and influence at all levels of the business in a positive and respectful way.
  • Be a collaborative and supportive member of the Internal Communications team and also the HR team, happy to muck in outside of your immediate role remit to drive the wider team’s success.

  • Be flexible to take on additional projects on the business road-map.
Specialist skills and experience:
  • Credible communications manager with at least two years’ experience in a fast and complex organisation.
  • Experience of managing and delivering complex change communications.
  • Strong commercial nous with a real passion for  how to make great communications decisions based on it.
  • Proven ability to execute plans across multiple channels and audiences.
  • Demonstrable evidence of positively influencing employee engagement.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent writing skills.
  • Highly driven.
  • Ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively.
  • Good understanding of internal communications theories and practices and the ability to translate these into practical plans.
  • The ability and pragmatism to move at pace in an unsophisticated communications environment and to know where to focus limited resources for the maximum impact.
  • Highly developed creative skills and enthusiasm for developing technologies and social media platforms to engage with our people effectively.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to influence and challenge senior stakeholders and present persuasive arguments to convince others.
  • Good creative, technical and platform knowledge to create and deliver brilliant content in a compelling way through the appropriate channel including intranet, video, print, digital and social media.
