About The Role

The UX Manager will play a key part in defining, shaping, and crafting solutions by delivering outstanding user-centred designs in support of commercial websites & mobile Apps as well as internal facing systems. Managing a team of UX and UI designers, you will work alongside the other teams in the product department. The UX/UI manager will concept and create innovative, digital customer experiences to keep the organisation at the forefront of the digital movement and one step ahead of its competitors.

You will require a strong technical background but will predominantly be more strategy focused, using data, analytics and planning including conducting user research to inform the direction of user experience designs. The role also requires having a deep knowledge in the UI field ensuring the best execution of user interface designs from initial conception to final delivery, engaging with development teams and ensuring the quality of the final product is met. You will lead all aspects of research engagements from planning and scoping to final execution and reporting.


Key responsibilities:

  • Production of high quality UX/UI design work for all brands products, websites and mobile Apps.
  • Working and collaborating with product managers for a consistent and aligned product strategy
  • Managing your team of UX/UI designer
  • Working with research partners to plan project approach, methodology selection and select appropriate tools
  • Working with data colleagues, planning insight development briefs and knowing how to use those insights in the project
  • Implementing best practice UX and UI methodology and process throughout the team
  • Estimating and planning project resource
  • Contributing to the customer research and development of design tools
  • Leading client presentations & consultations – creating and presenting
  • Leading and hands-on solution development including wireframes, prototypes, UI output and any assets required in the discovery, definition, design and delivery stages
  • Identifying opportunities to develop continued work and project future phases
  • Be responsible for the optimizing and evolution of UI aspects of brand guidelines and positioning
  • Encourages communication and collaboration across the business, team and stakeholders in order to build strong relationships and develop cross functional working
  • A leader that mentors and develops the team by; providing development, coaching, objectives and goal setting, performance management and other people policies as required ensuring the team is motivated, productive and fully compliant with all regulations and legislation

Skills & experience

  • Previous digital experience including UX/UI design, research, planning and strategy
  • University-level education in design, technology, psychology, human factors or Human Computer Interaction
  • Proven management or leading experience
  • Equivalent experience in user interface design, information architecture, interaction design, human factors, and other related UX/UI disciplines
  • Appreciation for data driven design
  • Genuine interest in crafting innovative, digital user experiences and interfaces
  • Previous experience of strategic planning and budget management.
  • Previous experience in the creation of digital products, platforms, Web & Mobile experiences, Mobile applications
  • Strong understanding of User Experience guidelines on mobile platforms such as iOS and Android
  • Ability to create simple, engaging web graphics
  • Strong communications skills (written, verbal and presentational)
  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • Ability to develop strong working relationships with internal and third party service providers
  • Previous track record of creating innovative digital experiences that yield an impressive ROI
