The role

 

Ladbrokes Coral Group Limited is recruiting for Retail L3 Support Manager, who will be managing the third line production support team covering outside normal UK business hours to ensure that Development support is always available.

 

Key Accountabilities

 

You will be part of the Retail Engineering team and as such accountable for the following:

 

 

·       Provide Level 3 Support – Ensure resolution of production issues in line with SLAs

·       Best Practice – Define developer best practices and ensures developer adherence

·       Guidelines – Defines developer guidelines and ensures developer adherence

·       Low Level Designs – Define and document low level designs

·       Develop Code – Write the code against the agreed designed architecture, best practices and guidelines.

·       Assurance of Architecture Guidelines – Assures code meets architecture guidelines

·       Recruitment/allocation of suitably competent resources to enable quality product

 

Objectives

 

  • You will support the delivery of OMNIA project and its transition to BAU.

  • You will be building and managing an efficient team in Hyderabad (GVC Office).

  • You will ensure that L3 Support Team and onshore Development team work together efficiently.

  • You will create a healthy workplace environment keeping retention and productivity high

  • You will continuously seek for opportunities to streamline delivery whilst keep high code quality standards.

  • You will run internal development community, technology forums, write internal blogs and papers on best technology fit for the company and seek to continuously improve our engineering practice.

  • You will ensure that your team collaborates effectively and in aligned with other teams such as Security, Devops, SRE, QA, Delivery and Architecture and L2 support. 

  

Responsibilities

 

·        Line Management Responsibilities: Staffing, Personal Development, coaching

·        Reporting: progress, risks and issues to PMO on weekly basis

·        Technology: You will be responsible for ensuring the right set of tools and technologies are used.

·      Process Controls: Responsible for ensuring that the team follows the development process and that this process is continuously reviewed.

·        Development: Ensuring coding standards are clear and continuously reviewed.

·        Testing: Ensuring high test code coverage

·        Release: Supporting major and patch releases.

 

You

 

The L3 Support Manager will help defining the development standards and practices across the Retail engineering team. You will work closely with other Retail and Integration Services Development teams to ensure that Retail Services development requirements are delivered using Agile & DEVOPS principles.

 

As the L3 Support Manager, you will have significant experience in building and managing an offshore development team (principally Hyderabad) in such that the team can be an effective extension of the London-based Engineering team. You will have over 7 years of development & architecture experience and over 5 years of managing a development team including offshoring. You will have experience of Agile software delivery within dynamic corporate environments and experience in the betting industry is a must. You must be fluent in English and have experience working in an international environment.

 

You and your team will be expected to operate evenings and weekends. You and your deputy will be first point of escalation for any production issues. As such you will closely with our second line support as well as other development teams to ensure continuous improvement of the platform.

 

You will be a passionate technologist who constantly keeps informed of the latest technology trends and products. 

 

You have significant development experience/technical knowledge in the following products/technologies:

 

  • Apache KAFKA 2.x

  • Spring Framework 2.x

  • JAVA version 8 or more

  • AWS

  • Kong API Gateway 1.x

  • ElasticSearch

  • Postgress

  • NOSQL Database

  • Swagger

You have a relevant Degree (or equivalent).

  • The successful candidates must pass the interview stage which will be assessing both technical skills and team fit.
